KERALA TEMPLES - Mridanga Saileswari Temple

Mridanga Saileswari Temple : Muzhakkunnu Mrithanga Shileshwari Kshetram has a powerful pancha loha idol inside. This is said to be one of the most famous Devi (DURGA) temples in Kerala. Origin of the lady form of KADHAKALI is from Muzhakkunnu temple by Kottayam rajavu. He is the father of kadhakali and wrote the famous vandana sloka “mathanganana mabjavasaram”about this devi. This is also believed to be the family temple of Veera Pazassirajah.  Great Kerala sinham Veera Pazhassi Raja used to offer his prayers to “kuladevatha” here. This temple is one amongst  the majour 108  Durga temple built by lord Parasurama. Location : The Temple is Locate in Muzhakunnu Panchayat, Kannur Dist, Kerala. Nearest Town is Tellicherry. In the morning pray this prayer and you should have a respectful look at hands. The front part of the hand(ie. finger tip) are ascribed to goddess Lakshmi(the goddess of wealth).The middle part of hand(palm proper) ascribed to the Goddess Saraswathi( the goddess of learing/vidhya).And the root part(near the wrist) ascribed to God Govinda. We pray the god that we would do good things by our hands. 2.           Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra  Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra or Venkateshwara Sahasra Namam Stothram is the devotional Vedic Hymns which explains the thousand (1000) names of Lord Vishnu. Vishnusahasranama Stotra is found in the 149th chapter Anushasanika Parvam of the Great Epic Mahabharatha. The famous warrior Bhishma Pitamaha teaches the Vishnu Sahasranama sloka to Yudishtra, the eldest of Pancha Pandavas. There is another version of Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra found in the Padma Purana, one of the major eighteen Puranas. However, the VishnuSahasranamam found in the Mahabharatha is the most popular version.
