The front part of the hand(ie. finger tip) are ascribed to goddess Lakshmi(the goddess of wealth).The middle part of hand(palm proper) ascribed to the Goddess Saraswathi( the goddess of learing/vidhya).And the root part(near the wrist) ascribed to God Govinda.
